Employee Grants Program
About
The Employee Grants is a new program at Mackay Sugar, that provides direct financial support to local, not-for-profit clubs and organisations in which our employees are personally involved. This could include a club you attend or your children’s, however you must provide proof of the organisation. This program is open to all registered clubs and charities within the Mackay LGA, including sports and cultural programs.
Each grant is to the value of $500, with a total of 20 grants being awarded.

Eligibility
To be eligible to receive an Employee Grant, you must ensure:
The organisation is listed as a charity, not-for-profit, or incorporated association
You are a member of the organisation or your children (under 18years of age) are members of the organisation
The organisation is based and operating in the Mackay Region
The organisation has NOT received a donation from Mackay Sugar in the previous 24 months
The organisation holds a Certificate of Currency
The organisation must present a tax invoice if rewarded a grant

How to Apply
All applications will require the following to be considered:
Reason behind the application
You will need to provide an outline of what the grant money will be used for if your organisation is awarded one (e.g., new jerseys, custom gazebo, signage, travel costs to an event).
Proof
A letter from the president of the organisation, in which you’re applying a grant on behalf of, outlining your role in the organisation and why you’re applying for a grant.
Certificate of Currency
Ensure you have a copy of the organisation’s Certificate of Currency to upload with your application.
Applications are open from 16th July 2025 and close 8th September 2025.
Application outcomes will be announced in mid-October, with funds being transferred in November.
